"Johnny Unitas needed help to obtain his education, now he is giving back financial aid to other deserving young men."

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award began in 1987. The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation presents the award to the best senior and or 4th year junior college quarterback who is on schedule to graduate with his class. Other objectives of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation are to promote football on all levels and give financial assistance to under privileged and deserving young scholar athletes. We also honor High School scholar athletes, college non scholarship athletes and the best football players in the State of Kentucky and State of Maryland, we also donate money to elementary school football leagues.

In addition to honoring the Unitas Award recipient, our organization continues to provide college scholarships to graduating high school scholar athletes. Since our inception we have donated over $575,000.

Johnny Unitas, a leader in the playing field, has carried the ideals of football forward into his relations with his community and his fellow man. He has lent his support to numerous charitable and civic organizations. Among them are the American Cancer Society, American Legion, Boy Scouts of America, The Kidney Foundation, March of Dimes, Multiple Sclerosis, The United Way and most recently, American Foundation for Urologic Disease, Inc. and Partnership for Prostate Health.

We hope you will find it in your heart and budget to be a part of our significant efforts moving forward. We sincerely hope that you will join us in our mission to provide our youth with a quality education.
